About the Healing Spiral - "The path isn't a straight line; it's a spiral. You continually come back to things you thought you understood and see deeper truths."
~ Barry H. Gillespie
We all have issues, or wounds that we work hard to overcome, either through reflection, meditation, counseling or healing work.
We have diligently dissected the cause and each of the effects. As we gain awareness, we can move forward again with more integration around that particular issue.
Then, without warning, we come face to face with this wound all over again, often years later. Of course, our first reaction might be to feel betrayed by ourselves, “I thought I fixed this! Why is this coming back up again? I feel like I will never be rid of this.”
The Healing Spiral
Healing happens in a spiral. When we are ready to heal something at a deeper level than we could access before, the issue will be presented to us again.
Know that if something has gotten our attention, it is because we are ready to heal it on the next level.
We have grown enough to align with a deeper truth about our issue. It isn’t a setback. We aren’t permanently flawed, nor will we ever be fully healed. Rather, we are imperfect and ever expanding beings with the capacity to learn and deepen our growth indefinitely.
Reframing the Human Experience
I remember early on in my healing journey, I was fighting against myself believing that it was possible to achieve a fully healed state. It takes time for the psyche to accept this truth. I had spent 12 years with a partner who was critical and demanded excellence, perfection from me, and himself.
What a rollercoaster–this belief leads only to despair.
We both lacked self-love and self-acceptance. What I know now about being human is that it is messy and imperfect and full of beautiful experiences. I see the human experience as the Fibonicci spiral, we start small and the spiral is tight. As we grow, the spiral widens exponentially to match our 5D expansion.
Yes, life is simpler and less stressful when everything goes smoothly without incident, but that is not how humans and life work. A smooth life means a very tight spiral. Humans are made for growth and experience, it is the nature of our soul. And life on earth, the natural order of all living things, is unpredictable but made to be the container for human experience.
The healing spiral is the human experience spiral, and it is beautiful and brutal…brutiful, as Glennon Doyle says.

Working with the Healing Spiral
We are currently in the midst of a Mars Retrograde cycle so you may be experiencing something annoyingly familiar and feeling frustrated by its return.
Retrograde cycles are always opportunities to review, reflect, and revise our stories and experiences. So, if something obnoxiously persistent pops up, don’t resist the experience; remind yourself that you are ready to move forward and embrace the opportunity to grow.
Retrogrades are a good time to work with a healer/mentor to fully explore what is coming up for you. Take advantage of the expanded opportunity for growth and healing with a Quantum Alignment session.
Living in the Spiral
Living in the spiral means embracing the truth that healing is not a destination—it’s a relationship. It’s a lifelong conversation between your soul and your lived experience. Every loop of the spiral invites you to meet yourself with deeper compassion, to witness how far you’ve come, and to tend to the parts of you that are ready for more love. It’s not about fixing yourself; it’s about being with yourself, fully and honestly, as you evolve.
When we live in the spiral, we stop fearing the return of old wounds and start recognizing them as familiar companions on our path of becoming. This is the sacred work of integration—where healing, growth, and self-acceptance move together, gently and persistently, in the rhythm of your life.
