Greetings! As we begin this Monday, let us acknowledge the start of a brand new month and a fresh year. I always welcome the mental reset of the New Year, even though we bring with us the very same things from the previous year. The start of a new year can instill within us a sense of renewal.
I enjoy conducting new year rituals and traditions because they allow me to be intentional and thoughtful about what I want to bring to the new year, experience in the new year, and create in the new year.
I welcome this reset even knowing that we still have the same obstacles and opportunities as before. Simply moving through the year’s end, no matter our individual traditions cleanses our palette of 2023.
Sure, it’s arbitrary. Nothing magical actually happens to change the energy or trajectory that we are on. However, we need to divide time into days and weeks and years in order to give us distance from events of the past. This separation gives us the opportunity to dust ourselves off, wash our hands, and move forward, leaving the past in the past.
So regardless of your personal experience and feelings about what transpired during 2023, the New Year provides us a chance to break free of any events or patterns that you would rather not remember or continue into the future.
Let this be an opportunity for letting go and moving forward with your ideas, plans, and hopes for the future. I have no sense of what this year will bring, but I do know without a doubt it will be an important year for our country and the world.
What adventure awaits you in 2024? Even if you think you know what is coming, the truth is none of us knows. The magic comes when you create plans or intentions and work towards them while reading the energy of the world around you and adjusting your plans accordingly.
The last four years have taught us that the Universe will laugh at our carefully laid out plans. It’s hard to be so bold as to make plans like we did in the before times. And we do really need to continue to open and expand into the post pandemic world. So make those plans and pay attention to what is happening around you. Expect to make some changes, but remember that hope and faith can take you a long, long way and sometimes the detours were always meant to be a part of the plan.
I would love to hear what you are contemplating as we begin this year. Has 2023 been a challenge for you? Or did it give you gifts? Perhaps both. Are you daring to create plans and goals? I hope you will share with me via email or in the Cozy ♥ Sanctuary online membership.
Thank you for walking the journey with me. I am looking forward to another year of twists, turns, opportunities, disappointments, and love.
All my best, Laura
