Welcome to a New Day

I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning.

Welcome! Another day begins. A new month. A fresh year. Of course, all the same, old stuff comes with us into this fresh year but that doesn’t mean the beginning of a new year can’t make us feel a sense of renewal. There is some kind of reset that happens from our year-end rituals.

I welcome this reset even knowing that we still have the same obstacles and opportunities as before. Simply moving through the year’s end, no matter our individual traditions, no matter if we didn’t really even follow our usual routines this year, cleanses our palette of 2020.

How are you feeling as we begin 2021? What did you learn about yourself in 2020 that you didn’t know before now? How are you marking this transition?

I moved in November. And this being COVID and me being single, that meant I moved all by myself. Since this move wasn’t planned, I had the keys to my new place before I ever packed a single box. This process was long and slow but it also offered me a lovely distraction from so many of the stressors that this year’s end brought…election chaos, holidays that lacked a feeling of joy and frankly felt like any old day.

Essentially, I have had a two-month vacation from my normal routines in a year that saw those routines massively disrupted already. So as I begin this year feeling a bit untethered, I am also excited having gained clarity for the road ahead. I also feeling behind as I had some plans for a new group that will be kicking off later in the year than I hoped.

I will be taking the next few weeks to ground into my work again. This mental break from my regular work process has given my muses much to noodle. I have plans for my Facebook group The Thriving Empath Community that I will begin implementing this month.

Beginning in February, I will be teaching Tools for Thriving as an Empath for anyone interested in understanding the energetics of being an empath and learning a few practices that help us manage our energy. If you have struggled with boundaries, with feeling overwhelmed, and with managing your moods/energy, I recommend checking out this 6-week class. It will be taught over Zoom so it is open to anyone no matter where you live.

Continuing through 2021 is the monthly Aligned Journey Talks. These talks provide a forum for discussing spirituality and the spiritual journey in our everyday lives which are often hectic and can feel devoid of meaning. Each talk includes a short presentation of the topic followed by a group healing meditation, ending with a discussion for those who want to share their journey and experiences.

Co-Creation 2021, a container for creatives and mystics, is being delayed until April as the muses just aren’t ready to fill in the missing pieces yet. I am excited about this group and I will share more details just as soon as I can.

I would love to hear what you are contemplating as we begin this year. Has 2020 been hard for you? Or did it give you gifts? Perhaps both. Are you daring to create plans and goals? I hope you will share with me via email or in the Empath Group.

Thank you for walking the journey with me. I am looking forward to another year of twists, turns, opportunities, disappointments, and love.

All the best,

Laura
