Keeping our wits about us when things go wrong isn’t easy. It requires practice and planning. How does one practice or plan for such a thing? Through regular meditation. If we can keep our head when things start falling apart, if we can remember that we are capable of finding a solution, of getting through the storm, then we don’t let fear win. It is a process for sure. One that takes consistent effort and faith. Faith in ourselves, and in a future that is better than the present.
Do you have a favorite mantra when things start to fall apart? One of my favorites is “this too shall pass. In the meantime, I will be brave and fight the dragon of my fear. The sun will shine again and until then I will persevere.”
Remember that when things go wrong mindful awareness brings us out of the darkness more swiftly. Take time to practice today.
