“True initiation is a response to an inner calling; it requires that you face personal challenges heroically and experience a genuine rebirth into a new way of being.” ~ Alberto Villoldo
The initiation begins once we take action to live our calling or purpose. My colleague Vanessa Couto and I did a talk on Friday about building a business out of your calling. When we create a business based on our calling, we are saying yes to walking, talking, and acting on a spiritual path.
Don’t be fooled by the pleasant sound of a spiritual path, it has a lovely ring to it, but it is not for the faint of heart. It requires us to unlearn many of the beliefs and social constructs that were taught to us as children and young adults.
As we shed, (or rip away) our outer skin, we are vulnerable and raw. The process of rebirth is thorough and if we are intrepid, complete. While at times uncomfortable and painful, the results are rewarding on a level most have never experienced before. All of our senses are alive. We reach a level of engagement with life and people that you can never imagine until you experience it. Life becomes magical in its simplicity and energizing in its complexity.
Building a business from your calling is not a requirement of a spiritual path but it is an option for those left dissatisfied by working a job that doesn’t fulfill their purpose. If you are someone who took the entrepreneur plunge, check out our Business Doula package and look to connect with other spirit-led business owners in your area for community and support.
