Mindful Monday 8/28/17

“When the best leader’s work is done, the people say, ‘We did it ourselves.’”  ~  Lao Tzu

Where are you a leader in life? Are you a parent? A business executive or owner? Involved in your community? A teacher?

My favorite leaders were those teachers and bosses that helped me know myself better. They revealed things about me that I overlooked or didn’t notice. They challenged me to take on bigger roles and then quietly supported and loudly encouraged me until I felt confident. My biggest successes came from working and learning from people who didn’t tell me what to do but showed me their vision and exposed my own skills and gifts that would make achievement possible. They managed their vision and not their people. They supported and groomed their people so that the people could bring the vision into reality. They shared ownership of their vision. They shared their knowledge and perspective.

As a result of these wonderful teachers and leaders, I choose to present concepts and options that empower each individual. I hold a vision of interdependence, empowerment, self-awareness, and self-responsibility that allows people pull out of their suffering and thrive.

What kind of leader inspires you? What is your leadership style?
